If you are a student who hasn't got a clue about what you want to do, or if you're stuck in a rut and feeling burnt out with your regular job, then maybe my Vocational Guidance package is for you.
My package includes the following elements:
- Aptitude testing to narrow down the field of recommendations and place my suggestions on an objective basis. This is designed to match your personality, skills and interests to a career choice.
- I use an extensive personality test in which the factors measured relate in a obvious and straightforward way to the best areas of study and employment suitable for you. Most people find this this part of the tests very interesting and revealing.
- The second part of aptitude testing includes two abilities tests and the third part is a test examining your degree of preference for various types of work related activity.
- Most of the above tests are only available to psychologists (unlike some other widely used tests which are not the best tests for Vocational Guidance).
- About a week after the second discussion, a report including test results and recommendations is mailed to you. Clients frequently photocopy the report and include it with their CV in job applications and if relevant, mature age tertiary applications.
- Two discussions with the myself occur, the first of which concerns your history in terms of employment, study and other interests. The second discussion occurs after testing and concerns test results in relation to the job market and/or study and training. At the end of this second discussion you will have several realistic careers to consider as well as action plans to get there. If you are a student, recommendations on study and subject choice are provided.
- The total average time for testing and the two discussions with me is usually around four and a half hours, although clients vary greatly. Attendance is usually divided into two appointments.
